Zigbee
Signal Repeaters
In large homes or commercial buildings, you may notice certain areas where your Zigbee devices can’t connect or frequently lose signal. These are known as dead spots. Installing a Zigbee signal repeater can help bridge these gaps by extending the network and improving connectivity throughout your space.
There are two types of repeaters available: USB & Smart Plug
Setting Up Your
Smart Zigbee USB Repeater
- Power your USB Stick Repeater
- Plug the USB repeater into any powered USB port (e.g. wall charger, power board).
- Once powered, you should see a flashing light and it will automatically begin boosting your Zigbee signal—no setup needed
- For best results, place it at a midpoint between your last connected Zigbee device and the device that is out of range or unstable.
- Avoid placing near metal, thick walls, or large electronics that may interfere with the signal.
- Launch your SIMI Smart App
- Open your SIMI Smart App on your screen or phone
- The stick should appear in your device list. Rename it if you have more than one repeater to find it easily when needed.
✅ Your USB repeater is now active and helping maintain a strong Zigbee connection.
To reset the USB repeater:
- Plug it in and switch the power on and off 3–5 times until the indicator light flashes rapidly.
- It’s now ready to reconnect to the network.
Setting Up Your
Zigbee Smart Plug Repeater
This Zigbee smart plug acts as both a power control device and a signal repeater. It must first be added to your SIMI Smart app before it can start strengthening your network.
📲 How to Add the Smart Plug Repeater:
Launch your SIMI Smart App
- Open your SIMI Smart App on your screen or phone
- Tap on the Zigbee Gateway
- Select Add Subdevice
- Add Repeater
- Press and hold the button on the smart plug for around 5 seconds until the light starts flashing rapidly.
- Wait for Detection
– The app should find the plug automatically.
– Follow the prompts to finish setup.
⚠ Placement & Usage
- Place the smart plug repeater midway between your last working Zigbee device and the one that can’t connect or keeps dropping out.
- Keep the plug switched on at all times to maintain its repeater function—even if you’re not using the outlet for power.
- If the plug is turned off, it will stop boosting the signal.
✅ Your smart plug repeater is now connected and expanding your Zigbee coverage.

- If the repeater doesn’t appear automatically:
– Reset the repeater and try again
Repeater offline or lost signal?
- Avoid placing the repeater near thick walls, metal objects, or other electronics that may interfere with the signal. Try to position it in a clear, open area for the best connection.
- Make sure the repeater is powered on
