Smart Power Plugs
Smart plugs are an easy and effective way to take control of your energy use. Simply plug them into a standard socket, to transform ordinary devices into smart, automated ones. Whether you’re managing home appliances, office equipment, or everyday electronics, smart plugs give you greater flexibility, visibility, and control—all from your screen or phone.
Once set up with the SIMI Smart app, you can control each plug from your screen or phone. The plug comes equipped with energy metering capabilities to help you monitor and meter any device that is plugged into it. Get valuable data and save energy by turning things off when you’re not using them.
For your convenience, schedule devices to turn on or off automatically, so they are ready to go when you are!
Setting Up Your
Wi-Fi Smart Plugs
Adding Your Power Board (Auto-Detected Setup)
1. Plug in your Smart Plug
- To enter pairing mode, hold down the power button on the plug for 5 seconds, or until the LED indicator starts rapidly flashing (approximately twice per second). Your product is now in pairing mode
- If the LED indicator is blinking slowly, do not continue with the pairing process. Press & hold down the power button for another 5 seconds until it start to blink rapidly.
2. Open your SIMI Smart App
- Launch the SIMI Smart App on your screen or phone
- Tap on the + symbol to add the device
3. Add the Device
- A pop up will appear: “Discovering Devices”
- Tap Add
- Confirm your Wi-Fi (2.4GHz), and follow the prompts.
4. Name Your Device
- To identify each device quickly, click on the pencil and name the plug after the device it is plugged into. Example: “Coffee Machine”
5. Choose a Room
- When prompted, select a room (e.g., Living Room, Bedroom)
- Or create a new room to keep things organised.

Key Features & Controls Using Your

🔘 Power ON / OFF
- Find the device in your app and tap on the power button to switch it on or off
- Or switch the device on or off from the button on the plug itself
🕒 Timer & Schedule
- Find the device in your app and tap on the clock next to the on/off switch. Schedule automatic times and days for the device to switch on and off – Great for energy saving and convenience.
- Select the countdown timer to make the device switch on or off after a set amount of time. Eg. Switch your lamp off in 30 minutes
⚡️ Energy Management
- Tap on the device name in your app to go to the main screen for that plug.
- All the energy usage information for the device that is plugged in, will appear on this screen, including current & historical usage in KwH, Voltage & Current type.
- Monitor how much energy the device is using at any time and use the timer & schedules to save energy
- Clear the data before using it with a different device for energy management, by resetting the plug using the “Adding your plug” instructions above.
Useful Information
Smart Plugs
- Make sure you are connected to a 2.4ghz wifi network to install and operate your smart devices. They do not work on 5ghz networks.
- Make sure the devices plugged into the plug are always turned on at the appliance switch. Use the app or the button on the plug, to switch them on or off.
- Do not overload the plug. Do not plug power boards into the smart plug.
- Avoid plugging fridges or appliances with perishable goods into smart plugs, as they can switch off if overloaded.

Not pairing?
- Hold the main button 5 seconds until light blinks fast.
- Move the plug closer to the Wi-Fi router.
- Make sure the Wi-Fi password is correct and the same as the network used on your mobile device.
- Check that your internet connection is working
Not showing in app?
- Check your phone is on 2.4GHz Wi-Fi with Bluetooth enabled.
